HUSBAND:
Gideon WEBB. [Familytree]. [Webb Family Study].
Born on 1 July 1709 in Saybrook, Middlesex County, Connecticut.(S6,S8,S10). He was the son of John WEBB and Ruth GRAVES. (S6). It has been said that he was possibly born in Nova Scotia, Canada; but I see no evidence for this.

He lived in Chester, the Pataconk quarter of Saybrook. (S11)>

He married (1) Edith BATES on 27 July 1731.
He married (2) Lydia PIKE.
He married (3) Temperance HOFF (HUFF)(HOUGH) on 27 JUL 1755 at Saybrook, Middlesex County, Connecticut.

According to the records of the first Congregational Church of East Haddam, "GIDEON WEBB of Haddam married Temperance Huff of Chester in Saybrook, on July 27, 1755. (S11).

He died on 18 February 1799 in (Chester, Saybrook, Connecticut-S10).

Born on 28 May 1710 at East Hadam, Middlesex County, Connecticut; daughter of John BATES and Elizabeth MARKHAM.

She married Gideon WEBB on 27 July 1731.

CHILDREN of Gideon WEBB and Edith BATES:
  1. James WEBB, Sr. . Born in 1733 in Chester, Middlesex County, Connecticut. He married Elizabeth Douglas on 1 November 1763. He died on 12 October 1817 at East Hampton (Haddam?), Middlesex County, Connecticut.
  2. Samuel WEBB. Born in 1736 in Chester, Middlesex County, Connecticut. (Born in 1737 in Saybrook, Connecticut-S8) He married (1) Eunice WILLIAMS on 31 January 1760 in Waterbury, New Haven, Connecticut. Eunice was born about 1736 in Connecticut. He married (2) Naomi WARNER on 18 FEB 1762 in Waterbury, New Haven County, Connecticut. Naomi was born about 1738. Samuel served as a private in the Revolutionary War. His name is found among the soldiers from Waterbury. Samuel died on 24 May 1790 in Waterbury, New Haven County, Connecticut.

Temperance HOFF (HOUGH).
Born on 8 April 1708 at Saybrook, Middlesex County, Connecticut; daughter of Jonathan HOUGH and Silence BATES. She was apparently previously married to __?__ FOSTER. (S7). She married Gideon WEBB on 27 July 1755 at Saybrook, Middlesex County, Connecticut. She died on 22 December 1793 in Connecticut.

NOTE: Jonathan Hough & Silence Bate were married on 10 April 1707 at Saybrook, Middlesex County, Connecticut. {S9}.

  1. Reuben WEBB. Born in 1756 in East Haddam, Middlesex County, Connecticut. He married Eunice BISSELL, daughter of Ephraim BISSELL and Susanna WARNER. She was born on 26 OCT 1757 at Waterbury, Connecticut.
