Since we don’t know who is the father of Maria Teresa WALL [F53], we will study all three.

Henry WALL.

He is said to have been born before 1775. On 17 May 1814 he received a deed for 2 acres in Watertown, Jefferson County, New York, “bounded by road from the courthouse to Malcah Fots’s and said Henry H. Coffum’s lands”. {G252, B6}. In 1820 he is living in Pamelia Town, Jefferson County, New York. On 4 OCT 1831 he received a deed from Vincent LeRay Dechaumont for a small tract in the village of Juhelville, Pamelia Township, Jefferson County, New York, on the Black River, being village lots 25 and 26. On 11 OCT this deed was recorded. {B6, B7}. On 15 SEP 1835 he received and had recorded a deed from Francis Depau and wife Silere DeGrasse of New York City for 50 acres in the town of Clayton. {B7}. On 19 NOV 1844 he is said to be of Clayton and grants a deed for 65 acres near his 50 acre tract. This deed is recorded on 11 JAN 1845. {B7}. On 14 JAN 1846 he receives a deed from Philo Bennet of Summit County, Ohio for $800 for “one tract in Brownville by Goodrich and Wager and the Rome State Road and one acre in Brownville Village”. This deed was recorded on 15 January 1846. {B7}.

His is the only WALL family listed in the Brownville area. {G252, B4}.

(John ?) WALL. Born about 1828. A John WALL is listed in the 1850 census of Brownville, Jefferson County, New York as living in the household of Isaac HENTZE and Maria Theresa WALL. This John is probably her brother. {B2?}. It could, however, be a cousin, son of John (above).
(Henry WALT ?). Henry WALT. He was born about 1796.{B2?}. He was born in 1806. {B8}. He married Eliza. {B8}. She was born in 1818 and died in 1890 and was buried in Clayton Centre Cemetery, Clayton Town, Jefferson County, New York. {B8}. On 15 SEP 1835 he received a deed for 50 acres in the town of Clayton, Jefferson County, New York. {B6}. He is listed in the 1840 census as living with his family in Clayton Town, Jefferson County, New York, where he was a farmer. On 19 NOV 1844 he sold a tract of 65 acres located near his 50 acres in Clayton. {B6}. ON 2 FEB 1854 they conveyed a deed. {B8}. He apparently had children: Henry Jr., Mary Ann, and Caroline. Henry Jr. married Mariah. He died in 1881 and was buried at Clayton Centre Cemetery, Clayton Town, Jefferson County, New York. {B7}.
(Thomas WALT ?). Thomas WALT. He married Jerusha. They lived in Watertown, Jefferson County, New York. {B8}. On 21 APR 1806 they deeded 1/4 acre there, being half of village Lot #6 in Watertown, to Samuel Wittelsey. {B7}. On 8 MAR 1816 they deeded 2 acres there to Henry H. Coffum. {B7, B8}. A Thomas WALL died 24 MAR 1883, age 22 years, 2 months, and was buried at Elmwood Cemetery, in Adams Town, Jefferson County, New York. {B8}.
(Benjamin WALTS ?). Benjamin WALTS. He married Rhoda. The lived in Theresa Town. On 13 JUN 1846 they made a deed for land. {B7}.
There was another Benjamin WALTS of Alexandria Town. His wife was Mary. They conveyed a deed on 5 JUN 1839 to Eli H. Phelps. {B7, B8}.
(George WALTS ?). George WALTS. Of LeRay Town. (B8). He conveyed a deed on 30 OCT 1847. {B7, B8}.
(William WALTS ?). William WALTS. He married Louisa. {B8}. They were of Pamelia Town, Jefferson County, New York. {B8}. They conveyed a deed on 1 JUN 1836. {B7, B8}. On 27 SEP 1847 he is mentioned in a deed of Peter WALTS and Conrad E. WALTS. {B8}.
(Peter WALTS ?). Peter WALTS. He married Catherine Ann. {B8}. They were of Brownville, Jefferson County, New York. He conveyed a deed on 27 SEP 1847 to Conrad E. WALTS. {B8}. The deed also mentions William WALTS. {B7, B8}. He and his wife also conveyed a deed on 4 MAR 1851. {B7}.
(Conrad E. WALTS ?). Conrad E. WALTS. He married Margarett. They had son Nelson. On 27 SEP 1847 he received a deed from Peter WALTS. {B7, B8}.
(David WALTS ?). David WALTS. He married Sophronia. {B8}. They lived in Pamelia Town, Jefferson County, New York. {B8}. On 6 JUN 1851 they conveyed a deed. {B7, B8}.

John WALL/WALTS.

On 1 MAR 1859 Simeon WALTS, Nelson WALTS, Catherine WALTS, Louise BAXTER, and Elizabeth SEARGENT (all of Orleans Town) and Christian NEWEL, and John WALTS (both of Alexandria Town) being heirs of John WALTS, deceased, late of Orleans, deeded a tract of land in Orleans Town to Charles WALTS of Orleans. {B7}. Since Maria is not listed, this indicates John is probably not her father. Therefore Henry is most likely her correct father.

A John WALTS was born about 1793. He married Caty, who died 10 MAR 1868, age 76 years, 1 month, and 1 day and was buried in Orleans Corners Cemetery, Orleans Town, Jefferson County, New York. He was a farmer. John died 10 OCT 1858, age 65 years, 3 months, and 11 days. He was buried in Orleans Corners Cemetery in Orleans Town, Jefferson County, New York.

Another John I. (or J.) WALTS was born about 1794. He was a blacksmith. He served in the War of 1812. He died 26 FEB 1851, age 57 years, and was buried in the same cemetery (as?). {S?}.

Daniel WALTS.

Born about 1789 in New York. He was a farmer. He was in Orleans Town, Jefferson County, New York in the 1850 Census. {B9}.
