John Spicer and Juliatha Hawkins

HUSBAND:
John SPICER. [Ancestors].
Born in 1687, of Anne Arundel County, Maryland; (son of-S?)(possible son of-S1) Edward SPICER [F1556]. [He is placed as a son of Edward because he was in the same parish as Edward, and because he had a son named Edward. (S1).].

He married Juliatha HAWKINS on 10 November 1709 (S1), in St. James Church, Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

He moved from Anne Arundel County to Baltimore County. This was said to be prior to 1710, but he had two children born in Anne Arundel County after 1710.

On 23 January 1716 he leased 50 acres on the north side of Patpsco from John Talbott. (S1).

On 11 March 1724 he bough 50 acres, called The Fancy, from James Boring. (S1).

In 1727 he took up Spicer's Inheritance. (S1).

His will was written on 6 January 1738. In his will he named his wife Juliatha, children Thomas, Edward, Elizabeth, Juliatha, Ann, Susanna, Sarah and Dinah [Diana]. (S1).

He died probably February or March 1739, since his will was probated 7 March 1739 at Baltimore, Maryland.

WIFE:
Juliatha HAWKINS. [Ancestors].
Born 29 October 1689 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, probably in St. James Parish; daughter of Augustine HAWKINS and Susannah CARR.
She married John Spicer on 10 November 1709 in St. James Church, Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

On 11 July 1742, Juliatha sold 50 acres, The Fancy, to Charles Ridgley. (S1).

In 1750, Juliatha owned 100 acres at Spicer's Inheritance. (S1).

She died in 1739, probably in Baltimore, Maryland.

CHILDREN of John SPICER and Juliatha HAWKINGS:
  1. Diana SPICER. [Ancestors]. Born about 1709 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. She married Joshua HALL about 1732. She died on 12 January 1749 (1750).
  2. Ann SPICER. She married Joshua HALL, her brother-in-law, about 1750.
  3. Thomas SPICER. Born (24 March-S?)(26 August-S1) 1714 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He was christened 11 September 1714 in St. James Church, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He married Rebecca MERRYMAN in 1735. He died in 1749.
  4. Elizabeth SPICER. Born 4 July 1731 in Baltimore, Baltimore County, Maryland.
  5. Edward SPICER.
  6. Juliatha SPICER. She married Henry (Warrill-S?)(Worrell-S1) on 30 January 1745.
  7. Susanna SPICER.
  8. Sarah SPICER. Born 30 November 1710 in St. James Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. She married Jonathan HANSON on 12 June 1733.
  9. Mary SPICER. Born (9-S1)(28-S?) November 1712 in St. James Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. She was christened 14 May 1713 in St. James Church, Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
