William Douglas and Hannah

HUSBAND:
William Douglas. [Family Tree].
Born on 11 November 1666 in New London, Connecticut; son of Robert Douglass and Mary Hempstead. (S1,S2).

He married Hannah (S1,S2), at least by about 1700.

His wife, Hannah, was received into the church at New London on 13 November 1709. (S1,S2).

In 1724 he sold a large tract of land in the North Parish of New London, near the Great pond, to Patience Griswold, of Lyme, for 300. (S1,S2).

He soon afterward removed with his family to Colchester, and settled near the Great pond. (S1,S2).

He was a cooper by trade, as his father and grandfather had been before him. (S1,S2).

Hannah.
Hannah was received into the church at New London on 13 November 1709. (S1,S2).

CHILDREN of William Douglas and Hannah:
  1. John Douglas. [Family Tree]. Born on 4 November 1701 in New London, Connecticut. He married Elizabeth Gusterfield. (S1,S2).
  2. Hannah Douglas. Born on 23 October 1703 in New London, Connecticut. She married John Bigelow (S1,S2), in Colchester, Connecticut. They had nine children. (S2).
  3. Mercy Douglas. Born on 4 November 1705 in New London, Connecticut. (S1,S2).
  4. Joshua Douglas. Born on 2 June 1708 in New London, Connecticut. He married Sarah Foote. (S1,S2). They moved to New Jersey, where he died; children: Joshua, Sarah and David. (S2).
  5. William Douglas. Born on 29 June 1710 in New London, Connecticut. (S1,S2).
  6. Sarah Douglas. Born in 1712 in New London, Connecticut. She was christened on 7 September 1712. (S1,S2).
  7. Peter Douglas. Born in 1715 in New London, Connecticut. (S1). He was christened on 10 June 1715. (S2). He married Lydia Fox (S1,S2), of New London, Connecticut. He subsequently left New London and disappeared. (S2).
  8. Jonathan Douglas. Born in 1717 in New London, Connecticut. He was christened on 15 September 1717. He died about 1740. (S1,S2).
  9. Ann Douglas. Born in 1720 in New London, Connecticut. She was christened on 29 May 1720. (S1,s2).
